The Befriending Project

Telephone Befriending at New Heights Warren Farm Community Project

Free friendship calls for the over 55’s

What is befriending?

Befriending makes a real difference to people who find themselves struggling, often at a time of change. Not having someone to talk to regularly can be lonely and isolating, particularly if you’re used to sharing your home and time with others. A friendly, weekly, 30 minute chat on the phone with a befriender can make all the difference.Helping Hands

Who are befrienders?

Befrienders are volunteers who donate their time for free to provide companionship and mental stimulation to people referred to our service. The befrienders are recruited and trained by New Heights Warren Farm Community Project.

Who is befriending for?

It is for people aged 55 years and over, who live in the Kingstanding area and in particular those who are housebound and have limited access to services

Before the befriending begins we will arrange an initial visit where we can discuss aims and expectations.
