St. John’s Centre
AA – St. John’s Centre
Every Saturday 19.00hrs – 21.00hrs.
We offer group support for men and women who are able share their experience, strength and hope with each other. To find a way to solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism.
Armstrong Karate and Kickboxing – St. John’s Centre
Every Tuesday 17.00hrs – 18.00hrs / Every Wednesday 19.00hrs – 20.00hrs /
Every Thursday 17.45hrs – 18.45hrs / Every Saturday 11.00hrs – 12.30hrs..
We are a family run organisation dedicated to the promotion of martial arts through friendship and co-operation amongst instructors and students, allowing students of all ages to train together. We aim to improve confidence, fitness and discipline through our training sessions and regular events throughout the year. Armstrong Karate combines Karate, Kickboxing, Freestyle and full contact karate in a disciplined and friendly environment. £4 a session but family discounts are available.
Catholic Home Education Group – St. John’s Centre
Monthly sessions – Thursday Evening – 15.00hrs to 17.00hrs.
We are a small group of families who are all Roman Catholic and home educate our children. We meet on a monthly basis to support each other’s faith, give group catechesis to our children and encourage their friendships.
Fr Eamonn and Fr David also give us the opportunity to share a short period of prayer in the church.
Community Institute of Training– – St. John’s Centre
Every Saturday 13.00hrs to 17.00hrs.
Community Institute of Training offer 1-1 tuition for students from age 4 to 16.
We work with students to build strong academic competence in Mathematics, English and Science.
We strongly believe any child can achieve academically if given the required resources and enabling environment.
Our range of support help students to be able to take and successfully pass exams such as SATS, 11 Plus and GCSE.
Crackers Playgroup – St. John’s Centre
Every Wednesday 13.00hrs – 15.00hrs.
(Only Open in School term time)
Our Playgroup provides two stay and play groups providing social networks positive play and child development support. The playgroup will support parents to actively communicate listen and play with their children, build positive techniques in tackling challenging behaviours and offer mentoring support. `
Lighthouse Chapel International – St. John’s Centre
Every Sunday -12.30hrs – 14.30hrs.

Silver Surfers – St. John’s Centre
Every Tuesday – 10.00hrs – 12.00hrs.
Are you looking for a good opportunity to gain knowledge on computers? Do you struggle learning the complexity that is computer technology?
Then come on down to the Silver Surfers Computer Club. A group where you can gain information but also chill out and have fun while doing so.
There will be activities provided to you so that you can slowly but surely take in all the basic techniques of computers; you can even practice these techniques at home to get better and better with computers.
Beginners and Veterans are all welcome to join the group, we encourage you to bring in your own laptop, if you do not have one we will provide a laptop for you.
213th Birmingham Scout Group – St. John’s centre
Cub Scouts – (8 years to 10.5 years) – Every Tuesday 18.15hrs – 19.15hrs.
Beaver Scouts – (6 – 8 years) – Every Wednesday 17.15hrs – 18.45hrs.
Scouts – (10.5 years – 14 years) – Every Friday 18.00hrs – 19.30hrs.
Want to get involved with over 200 activities, make new friends experience indoor and outdoor fun and adventure.
Join the Scouts ! As a child or an adult you can build your confidence , try new activities such as abseiling, astronomy, orienteering, chess, mountain biking, photography, archery, zorbing, zip wire. Learn and develop life skills such as healthy eating, budgeting and fund raising. Go on camps, go on trips, visit museums and participate in sports including football, rugby and basketball. Why not swim, run or cook in our district competitions or learn how to take part in musical activities, such as singing and dancing.
You are never too old to scout.
Slimming World – St. John’s Centre
Every Monday – 9:15hrs & 11:00hrs – 17:15hrs – 19:15hrs
Slimming World is a UK-based weight loss organisation. Slimming World’s members follow a ‘Food Optimising’ eating plan, take moderate activity through its ‘Body Magic’ programme, and also have group support.
Tai- Chi – St. John’s Centre
Every Thursday – 10.30hrs – 11.30hrs.
Our classes are aimed at older people who have not tried Tai Chi before but are looking for an introduction to this form of gentle exercise. You may carry out the class seated but we do encourage most of our participants to stand and move around as much as they can.
Thursday Luncheon Club – St. John’s Centre
Every Thursday 12.30hrs – 14.30hrs.
Thursday Luncheon Club is ran by a group of volunteers, who gives people of the community a chance to socialise and meet up with old and new friends. The Luncheon club also provides midday meals and various activities for a cost of £3.00.

Age UK provides information and advice by appointment only at our Community Cafe. They can help you with many areas including advice on welfare and benefits, housing or support services as well as how to keep healthy and active.
Jack Dromey MP Advice Surgery
Third Saturday of each month – 11:00hrs – 12:00hrs

Advice desks are an opportunity for you to raise any issues you have with Jack or one of the team.
Some of the things they can offer advice on are:
– Housing complaints – Benefit problems
– School issues – Community issues
– Policing – Health service

Knit and Chat
Every Tuesday – 12:00hrs – 14:00hrs
Our Knit and Chat group is based in our Community Café and will run every Tuesday from 12pm – 2pm. If you enjoy knitting or would like to learn to knit please come and join the group. There is charge of £1:50 to cover the cost of a drink and slice of cake.
Al Anon – Guild Room
Every Monday 20.30hrs – 21.30hrs.
Al-Anon Family Groups hold regular meetings where members share their own experience of living with alcoholism. Al-Anon does not offer advice or counselling, but members give each other understanding, strength and hope.
Kingstanding Faith Mums – Guild Room
Every Saturday 15.00hrs – 17.00hrs.
Faith sisters are a group of mothers in Kingstanding who gather mostly on Saturdays at 3pm to 5pm maximum to encourage and inspire each other based on biblical principles to be a blessing to our immediate families and the larger world.
We are opened to anyone who has the interest to be a part of these wonderful women.
The Imagine Group

Every Friday 12:00hrs – 15:00hrs

The Tuesday Club are based in the Guild Room and will run every Tuesday from 9:30pm – 11am. If you enjoy a playing games and activities and having a natter with a cup of Tea or Coffee with some biscuits then this is the group for you. There is charge of £1.00 to cover the cost of a drink and biscuits.
