New Heights Community Cafe

New Heights Community Café, 108 Warren Farm Road, Kingstanding, Birmingham, B44 0QN
Tel: 0121 384 2333

Our Community Café has been running since 2007 and has become very well established in the area. Until St Johns Centre was built, the Community Café provided the focal point of the entire New Heights project.

Today the Café continues to provide a clean, welcoming, safe and secure environment that all members of the community can easily access. It’s the ‘front door’ for a range of services delivered by a range of providers.

The community can establish the services that are available to them on site or at St. Johns or obtain information on other local services that they can be signposted to whilst enjoying a choice of hot drinks, tasty snacks and delicious cakes.

It provides the venue for delivery of some of our own services, including the Legal Welfare Project and Domestic Abuse Support Service. One of our key partners, Kingstanding Regeneration Trust, is located in rooms connected to the café. Other service providers including Stonham Support Services for Carers who support loved ones with mental health issues, provide drop in sessions at the café on a fortnightly basis.

The cafe provides a wealth of opportunities. It provides positive experiences for people that may find themselves otherwise socially isolated, a social meeting place where lasting friendships have blossomed. IMG_2986

Additionally there are opportunities for individuals to develop work based skills leading to qualifications.

The café is managed on a daily basis by Jo Fields but is largely dependent on volunteer support in maintaining its operation. We are extremely fortunate that we have a core of very dedicated, committed and reliable volunteers who sustain the day to day activities and ensure that the café stays ‘open’ to welcome its customers.

The café’s opening hours are 08.45hrs to 15.00hrs on school term weekdays. Please come in and join us.

Our friendly, happy staff are always happy to help. The café is an avenue for opportunities to happen…

  • To meet people
  • To nurture friendships
  • For training
  • For jobs
  • To work together and most of all
  • To try our hot drinks, sandwiches and cakes!
